Camp Waupaca for Boys existed from 1951 to 1988. After camp was sold in 1989, it ceased to exist as Camp Waupaca for Boys and now operates as Camp Young Judaea (CYJ) Midwest. It has been, is, and always will be OUR policy that visits to camp are frowned upon unless you make arrangements with the current proprietors of the facility. The Camp Waupaca Reunion Group (CWRG) does not condone unannounced visits or trespassing on camp property at any time. CYJ asks that Camp Waupaca visitors contact the summer office at 715-258-2288 or email CYJ Director, Rabbi Hannah Wallick to make arrangements. CYJ allows visitation outside of their camp sessions for privacy and security of their community (visitation during the camping sessions is not allowed).
Everyone who visits this website or is otherwise involved with CWRG activities should consider themselves bound by this policy so as to not tarnish our relationship with CYJ. As we have done every 5 years since 1996, we visit camp under a rental agreement contract. We like to maintain our relationship with CYJ to ensure positive negotiations in the future.
If you are granted permission to visit camp by CYJ, we highly recommend you make a donation to CYJ to further their camping mission. C'mon, be a mensch!
