Off-Year Reunion 2025

Another year, another visit to Waupaca! Going strong since 1996, eight alumni gathered in Waupaca to reminisce, reconnect, and remember all the stories we created while at Camp Waupaca For Boys. We also had an opportunity to visit camp this summer and meet new CYJ director, Dan Ravitch. Dan is super interested in our history and we are feeding him info about our past. We look forward to working with Dan for many years to come.

We always try to conduct the annual Camp Waupaca Reunion Group council meeting at camp if we can, and this summer was no exception. The weather wasn't the best, so we decided to take our lunch and meeting into the rec hall. During the meeting, we experienced "high winds" (those of you who were at camp in 1983 may remember a similar event!). We had to suspend our meeting and seek shelter in the basement of the building. According to Big Chief Paul Warshauer, who could not attend due to illness, this was the first time our meeting was impacted by inclement weather.

Here's who attended this year's event:

Errol Grisard (1972-1972)
Billy Kruzel (1975-1977)
George Lamm (1975-1978)
Scott Levine (1983-1987)
Mike Lurie (1970-1981)
Warren Metzdorff (1971-1988)
Rick Passman (1963-1976)
Ben Zalay (1968-1974)

What we did . . .
A lot of planning goes into these reunions, and in order to keep everything on schedule and make sure we don't miss anything, we create a detailed itinerary. Want to see what we did during the reunion weekend? CLICK HERE to see the 2025 reunion itinerary.

Reunion Wrap-Up (Time Capsule) . . .
One of the time-honored traditions of Camp Waupaca, especially in the Trail's End yearbook, was to write a time capsule after each season. In a few short paragraphs, the essence of the season gone by is recaptured in summary fashion. We continue this tradition with each reunion but it's not quite ready for prime-time! Check back every so often to see if it's ready to go.

Photos and Videos . . .
We don't have a whole lot of photos from 2025, and no videos. But here is the collection we do have.
